Tooth Extraction Solutions

Tooth Extraction Solutions

As part of’s (GDS) signature solution series, our technical and clinical team has developed a customized solution to assist implantologists in extracting teeth as atraumatically as possible. In the past, tooth extractions have been done using whatever means necessary. Nowadays, it isn’t enough to simply remove the tooth, especially when the end goal is implant placement in the extraction site! With implant placement in mind it’s important to maintain as much alveolar bone as possible and this can only be achieved by removing the tooth atraumatically. The GDS solution was designed with this principle in mind and will provide any clinician who adopts it with the highest level of risk-management when preforming this procedure.

The GDS Tooth Extraction Signature Solution is as follows:

1. Piezo Surgery Unit

W&H’s Piezomed is the new premium level Piezoelectric surgical unit on the market. As a result of their late entrance to the piezo surgery market, they were able to capitalize on some of the design flaws that were iterated to them by clinicians using competitive units. Some innovations exclusive to Piezomed include: Automatic instrumentation detection, multiple unique patented tips, hands-free foot control with a BOOST function, and LED ring light technology.

2. Piezo Surgery Instrumentation (Tips)

W&H’s Piezomed has a specifically designed instrumentation set (tip kit) for tooth extraction. This tip kit is also perfect for the removal of broken or failing dental implants.

The extraction tip kit contains two instruments designed for atraumatic tooth extraction to preserve the alveolar bone. Depending on the case, this solution should allow for bone grafting and immediate implant placement in the extraction site, as well as the removal of an osseointegrated, broken, dental implant while maintaining the extraction sites integrity for the next implant!
